Living History!

Barack Hussein Obama became the 44th President and Commandar-in-Chief on November 4th, 2008 in Chicago, IL.

We ARE the most fantastic dreams of our predecessors. This is OUR time and today was made for us to conquer any obstacles and fears that lie in the way to greatness. We are the ones that our great great grandchildren will be studying in school. We are the ones carving out the walls of our reality. We are the ones molding and shaping destiny. As long as we drive forward, steer the herd, and motivate the poor in spirit we will continue to rock the world and influence change. Obama is a blessing, but it's up to us to also be the change we can believe in!!

With change comes CHANGE...not everybody will like the new things. Something or someone will ALWAYS be on the losing end of goverment change. Money will be re-routed and sometimes it takes a large surge of funds to get processes started for the long term savings and efficiency.

You can never, ever erase the past or deny their scars. However, we can't live for the past; we can't live for what the future might be; we must live for the now, going foward with hope and the lessons we've learned. Ignoring race and denying the existance of racism, will be like ignoring the Elephant balancing on one leg atop the kitchen table. Black President or not that cop that pulled you over for being young and Black with an expensive car, will still pull you over for being the same. These are progressive times, but they don't negate everything that we've been through.

Making my lemonade...

I've been given "lemons" (difficulties), but also a pitcher full of ice (opportunity). So I'm making a glass of ice cold lemonade (for my God) and my positivity will keep it sweet...

I came back home to the depressing gray skies & cold of the Mid-West from sunny Tinsel Town and the sparkley, plastic people of Southern California. I'm unemployed, but a college graduate and in better health.  Didn't achieve a certain life goal (membership), but have been given life enhancing and life altering opportunities. Am not lucky-in-love, but have been blessed to share brief encounters with many wonderful people.

I have lived a lot of life in my short years and have experienced people and places that are far beyond my wildest dreams. No, things might not always go my way, but I always trust that they are going the RIGHT way.

So here I am...I'm stirring up my pitcher of fresh, sun kissed lemonade...

 Lemonade

 1. There are at least two people in this world
that you would die for.

2. At least 15 people in this world
love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you
is because they want to
be just like you

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone,
even if they don't
like you.

5.. Every night,
SOMEONE thinks about you
before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever,
something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world
has turned its back on you
take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received.
Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember....
when life hands you Lemons,
make lemonade and call me over!

Good friends are like stars........
You don't always see them,
But you know they are always there.

'Whenever God Closes One Door He Always Opens Another, Even Though
Sometimes It's Hell in the Hallway'

I would rather have one rose and a kind word
from a friend while I'm here
than a whole truck load when I'm gone.

Is college education a must for most people in the modern world? Why or why not?

Yes, a college education a must for most people in the modern world. No, it does not mean that the college educated person is any smarter then the person who is not. A college education has become our economy's way of separating the haves from the have nots. It's a the US educational system is a modern day caste system. If you don't get a good elementary school education, like those of private schools. Then you won't get into a private high school or get terribly good grades in public high school. If you don't get a solid high school education, then you won't be able to get into a good college. On the other side, if you can't afford the good private schools for K-12, then when SAT & ACT time comes around, you might not get the scores needed to get into college. There are other things here that help keep low-income people out of college.

All that comes to this, most careers (not just a job or some work, but a full out career) require a college education to get in the door for the entry-level positions. From that a person works their way up the bureaucratic ladder to higher positions, then retire with their 401-K, and live out their remaining days.

The individuals without a college degree live a much different story in most situations. This person goes from job to job, until they find a "good" job, like at AT&T or working the "line" at one of the car companies. Not glamorous work, long hours, difficult work environment mentally, emotionally, and or physically, not great pay, not the best health benefits, etc. This is most work environments, but the pay is lower then that of those with out degrees. The higher the college degree, the higher the pay.

The most obvious exception is for entrepreneurs. They don't need a college degree to be successful, because they're doing their thing and make their own rules. It's hard to make it with this, but those that do see great rewards whether they have a GED or a Ph.D.

This caste system weeds out the have nots by charging more money to get higher and higher up in the advanced education levels; which in and of itself allows for easy entry into higher lifestyles and occupations in this country.

Surgeons are rich, but it takes being rich to become a surgeon.

There are many more details in this argument, but time constraints force me to make this brief...

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

And the Lord says...

The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish."
Isaiah 29:13-14

Those that think they are more favored by God because they're going to church every Sunday, but acting a fool with sinning all during the week; versus a young man with a pure heart, who does good deeds and performs random acts of kindess, but just happens to be homosexual are sadly mistaken, though they are in the majority. Understand and apply this same ideal to things across the board in your lives and you'll truly be a reflection of the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus.
You better believe that neither he nor his disciples were homophobic!!
